The first mode that I worked on was MUT Salary Cap. This mode was added late to Madden 16 in a patch. I was responisble for bugging the menus and the salary cap lineups. As this was a new mode in Ultimate team that required additional restrictions to the players' lineup, numerous issues were found. Most of these issues were found and fixed before release of patch.
The Madden Companion App is an app that connects to users to their Madden Franchise league. I was the main tester for this application. I verified over 200 checks and was responsible for the daily reports on this application. I was also responsible for communication with other studios/departments, third party sites (for data export) and the NFL. I also assisted with the submission process. This application was released on Android and iOS for Madden 17 and 18.
MUT Champions is another mode with which I assisted. This was a mode that was copied over from FIFA. It requires a user to have 3 wins in a knockout tournament to qualify for the 25 game Weekend League. I helped with writing the checks required to pass the mode. Rigorous testing was done with qualification and rolling over Event and event expiry. This mode was released with Madden 18 and was used by competitive players to qualify for the Madden tournaments. Lineup restrictions were added in an additional patch. This allowed developers to set restrictions for the weekly lineup to enter MUT Champions. I also assisted with writing the checks for this add-on for this mode.
Audibles on the Fly is a feature that was added late to Madden 18. This feature allowed the user to edit the audibles available for certain formations. I was solely responsible for creating the checks to pass this feature for the patch. An issue was found wth custom playbooks that would completely ruin the gameplay. This was found and fixed before release.
MUT Levels is a new feature that was added to Madden 18. This allowed the user to gain access to new challenges and rewards as they ranked up. I assisted with the creation of the checks and was involved in the extensive testing of this feature.
The Gameday program was a program designed to promote the Madden Ultimate League. The Ultimate League was a tournament involving the 10 best competitive Madden players. This package allowed the user to gain access to Competitive Madden players as coaches and elite players for their Ultimate Team. I was responsible for writing the checks and extensive testing of this mode.
MUT Squads was a new mode for Madden 18. This was a 3v3 mode inside of Madden Ultimate Team. I was involved in the extensive testing of this mode including gameplay, rewards,, cheat detection and UI. I also took part in a studio tournament for this mode and reached the final game. I also assisted with the checks for this mode.
Solo Battles is a new mode that will be released with Madden 19. This is a new mode that was added that was copied over from FIFA. This involves playing against the CPU using other users squad including featured squads(which can include celebrities or competitive Madden players). I assisted with testing the game mode including rewards, and progress.
Player Upgrades is a new feature for Madden 19. This feature allowed players to upgrade their Ultimate Team players. I assisted with testing this feature.
During my time at EA, I was on the patch team. I assisted with verifying each patch including new features, fixes,etc. I was also responsible for writing the reports for the patch so the development team could be notified daily what issues need to be fixed and how close the patch is to be being complete.
